Volvo Cars Shakes Up Executive Management Team
Volvo Cars has announced several key appointments and changes within its executive management team. Geert Bruyneel, previously head of manufacturing, will now report directly to CEO Jim Rowan and take on the role of senior advisor for operations and industrial projects. Meanwhile, Javier Varela, the outgoing chief operating officer and deputy CEO, is set to join Rivian as their new chief operations officer.
Francesca Gamboni, a seasoned professional with 25 years of experience in manufacturing, supply chain, and procurement, predominantly in the automotive sector, has joined Volvo Cars' executive management team as the new chief supply chain officer. Gamboni, who previously served as senior vice president of global supply chain at Stellantis, will oversee operations including procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and quality.
Anders Bell has been appointed as chief engineering and technology officer, leading car engineering, research and development, and safety. Erik Severinson, meanwhile, takes on the role of chief product and strategy officer, responsible for company and product strategy, car programme management, quality, and sustainability.
These appointments and changes reflect Volvo Cars' commitment to strengthening its leadership team and driving forward its strategic objectives. Gamboni's extensive experience in supply chain management will be particularly valuable in her new role, while Bell and Severinson bring their expertise to bear in their respective areas of responsibility.
