Vodafone & Kigen Simplify IoT with iSIM: Global Connectivity, Reduced Costs
Vodafone Business IoT and Kigen have joined forces to simplify IoT product development. The partnership introduces iSIM, a significant leap in SIM technology that enables secure, global connectivity for IoT devices.
iSIM, integrated into Kigen's iSIM Secure Package, is now commercially available on multiple chipsets. This innovation reduces mit and operational burdens for enterprises in IoT development.
The technology automates connectivity upon deployment, slashing manual installation and energy consumption costs. It also eliminates the need for sourcing individual SIM components and negotiating supplier agreements. Vodafone's global connectivity footprint enables manufacturing once and shipping globally, further streamlining the process.
Erik Brenneis, CEO of Vodafone IoT, expressed delight in the collaboration with Kigen, stating it will facilitate worldwide iSIM connectivity. The partnership's work aligns with the IndustryFusion Foundation and Eco's mission to advance digital infrastructures and interoperable standards for Industry 4.0 in Europe.
Vodafone Business IoT and Kigen's iSIM technology is set to transform IoT product development. With reduced mit, operational burdens, and manual installation, industries like smart meters and tracking devices stand to benefit significantly. The partnership's work also supports the broader goal of advancing Industry 4.0 in Europe.
