EVA VR Bucharest Opens Doors to Immersive Gaming Experience

In a groundbreaking move for virtual reality (VR) gaming, the newest addition to the Esports Virtual Arenas network, EVA VR Bucharest, was inaugurated on June 7, 2023. Housed in the former Metav industrial building in the north of the Romanian capital, this state-of-the-art VR center is set to revolutionize gaming experiences for players of all ages.

Andrei Moisa, the manager of EVA VR Bucharest, describes the experience as "like playing a video game, but not from the outside looking at a monitor - You look 360 degrees around you and you're inside the game." The environment in the game includes 13 diverse maps, such as "The Rock" and "Atlantis," offering an immersive and exciting experience.

The virtual reality experience at EVA VR Bucharest is not exclusive to gamers. Game sessions offer intense gameplay, even without running, and can be comparable to cardio, making it an attractive option for fitness enthusiasts as well. Movement in the game matches 1-to-1 with movement in the arena, reducing the risk of motion sickness.

Each game session at EVA VR Bucharest can accommodate a maximum of 10 players and lasts 40 minutes, with 30 minutes of effective gameplay. Players are equipped with headsets and armed, and the game master sets up the matches. The environment includes features like crates, walls, elevators, and vantage points, providing a realistic and engaging gaming experience.

Players can choose from several game modes, including domination, free-for-all, skirmish mode, and the zombie mode "Moon of the Dead." A 30-minute game session allows players to play 3 to 7 maps. There are 54 different weapons, skins, loadouts, battle pass, and seasons available, ensuring a varied and dynamic gaming experience.

Before the game, players watch a video that teaches them the basics and are taken to a briefing area to leave their possessions in the locker room area. The location features a steampunk setting with a bar and restaurant, two 500-square-meter arenas, and wall-mounted screens showing in-game perspectives.

EVA VR Bucharest is part of the international Esports Virtual Arenas network, which has 58 VR arenas in nine countries. The Bucharest center is the 58th expansion of the network. Andrei Moisa reports a high player return rate of around 70%.

In addition to the Bucharest center, EVA VR plans to open two more locations in Bucharest and additional centers in Cluj, Iași, and Timișoara in Romania. This expansion includes a total of three sites in Bucharest and one in each of the other three major Romanian cities.
