Leapmotor, a leading Chinese EV manufacturer, has launched an updated version of its popular T03 compact electric vehicle in China. The new model promises enhanced efficiency, improved performance, and a focus on urban driving.
**Key Specifications**
The updated T03 is equipped with a 70 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor, producing a maximum power of 95 PS and 158 Nm torque. It features a 37.3 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery, offering a real-world driving range of up to 395 km in urban conditions, with a WLTP range of 265 km.
The vehicle supports fast charging, which can charge the battery from 30% to 80% in just 36 minutes using a 45 kW DC charger. It boasts a modern, compact hatchback design with eye-catching LED headlamps, a panoramic sunroof, and semi-circular LED taillights.
**Performance and Comfort**
The updated T03 offers three driving modes and three steering modes for a personalised driving experience. It features a "Magic Space" cargo system, expanding from 210 to 508 litres, and a 42-inch panoramic sunroof for added comfort.
**Technology**
The vehicle is equipped with a 10-inch touchscreen, simplified menus, remote app control for cabin pre-conditioning, battery status, and security, and supports Over-the-Air (OTA) updates.
**Comparison to Earlier Models**
The updated model retains the core specifications such as the 70 kW motor and 265 km WLTP range, similar to the 2024 model. However, the updated model emphasises real-world efficiency and user experience, as it provides a higher real-world driving range of up to 395 km compared to the WLTP range.
**Limited-Time Incentives**
Leapmotor is offering limited-time incentives to customers who purchase before February 28. These include a RMB 6,000 reduction in the final payment, a financing interest subsidy of up to RMB 2,000, and a home charger worth RMB 2,680.
**Delivery Figures**
In 2024, Leapmotor delivered 293,724 vehicles, a 103.76 percent increase from 2023. The company delivered 25,170 vehicles in January, a 40.8 percent decrease from December but a 105.02 percent increase from the same month last year. As of the end of January, Leapmotor had delivered a total of 624,718 units since its inception.
**Looking Ahead**
Leapmotor aims to deliver 500,000 vehicles for the full year 2025. The company will start pre-sales of the B10 SUV on March 10. With its focus on urban efficiency and comfort, the updated T03 is poised to continue Leapmotor's growth in the Chinese EV market.
