Updated Feature in TIP Tool: Synchronization with Docketing Software

The TIP Tool™, a comprehensive patent management platform, has recently unveiled a new feature called the IP Docketing System Sync. This innovative tool allows small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to seamlessly import critical patent application data from major docketing systems into the TIP Tool platform.

The sync process is initiated through the TIP Tool control panel, where users can configure the sync step by step. They can map data fields between their docketing software and the TIP Tool, and choose appropriate sync modes to ensure data is accurately and efficiently transferred into the patent management platform.

This synchronization offers a unified, strategic view of an organization's IP portfolio by consolidating patent data across multiple docketing systems into one platform. Whether managing a small portfolio of 50 filings or a large one of 5,000, users can simplify their workflows and sharpen their IP management strategies.

For SMEs, the benefits of this feature are substantial. Time savings and efficiency are achieved by automating data import rather than manual entry. Improved accuracy is ensured by minimizing human errors during data transfer. Comprehensive portfolio visibility helps SMEs make better-informed IP management decisions. Streamlined workflows reduce administrative overhead, allowing teams to focus on higher-value strategic tasks.

In addition to streamlining data management, the TIP Tool™ offers a host of other robust features. It presents early insights of Art Units and examiners for high chances of patent success. Idea capturing and nurturing are made more intuitive. A comprehensive view of the patent portfolio status is provided. The potential cost associated with each patent is predicted.

The Docketing System page in the control panel lists each configured docketing system, offering options for editing details, viewing mapped fields, deactivating sync, accessing history logs, and deleting mapping. Users can identify filings that may require urgent action based on synced status data, not automated alerts. They can better assess which patents are consuming the most resources and make informed decisions about continued investment.

To use the IP Docketing System Sync feature, users need to follow a series of steps, including selecting their organization, portfolio, and docketing system, exporting data from their docketing system, and emailing it to a unique email address provided by the TIP Tool™. Clicking "Save" completes the sync process, and the updated application data will appear in the Portfolio Manager within TIP Tool™.

Instantly, users can see which applications are active, delayed, or facing multiple office actions. Unmapped fields can be assigned the correct match manually in the "Profile Properties" column. Users can choose between three sync actions: Add Only, Update Only, or Add & Update Both.

The TIP Tool™ has been designed to reduce friction in patent management for small to medium-sized enterprises. It can handle most of the field mapping automatically, and users can send one file per docketing system per day. The system is open to user feedback for continuous improvement.

Integrating the IP docketing system with TIP Tool™ provides strategic clarity and operational efficiency. It also assists in building an effective global patent strategy. The TIP Tool™ offers other robust features such as an idea capture platform, enterprise-wide collaboration capabilities, an art unit predictor tool, examiner analysis capabilities, and patent family tree visualization.
