Unveiled prematurely: Google inadvertently displays the entire Pixel 10 series prior to its official unveiling
Google has inadvertently revealed its upcoming Pixel 10 smartphone lineup prematurely, with a hidden banner on the Google Play Store showcasing the new devices. The leak occurred a month ahead of the official announcement, scheduled for August 20, 2025, during Google's "Made by Google" event.
The banner displayed an image of all four models with the caption "Meet the new Pixel 10 series." The lineup includes the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and the foldable Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Notably, the hidden banner was only accessible by journalists who discovered a way to activate it, and the $50 discount offer on the Pixel 10 series is not available to regular users as the banner is not accessible to them.
The design and colours of the Pixel 10 series devices match recent leaks and official teasers from Google. The three models - Pro XL, Pro, and the standard Pixel 10 - were shown in a silver-blue "Moonstone" colour, while the base Pixel 10 model was shown in a bright blue colour. The base model's "Moonstone" colour option is yet to be confirmed for the other models.
In terms of design, the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro each measure approximately 152.8 x 72 x 8.6 mm. They feature a flat front display and back panel with subtle chamfered edges for comfort, and premium materials like aluminum and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 are used for durability. The Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL are expected to maintain a similar size to their predecessors, with the Pro likely around 6.3 inches and the Pro XL approximately 6.8 inches.
The Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL will be powered by the Google Tensor G5 chip, Google's proprietary processor. The Pixel 10 Pro will come with 16 GB of RAM, while storage options for the Pixel 10 Pro range from 128 GB up to 1 TB, though the 1 TB version is likely limited to certain colours; the Pixel 10 Pro XL will start at 256 GB, with no 128 GB option. The Pro models may also include vapor cooling chambers to improve performance and an upgrade in display technology, specifically with improved Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) dimming to reduce eye strain.
The camera system of the Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL features a triple camera setup with a 50 MP main sensor, a 48 MP wide-angle sensor (supports macro photography), and a 48 MP telephoto lens with five-fold optical zoom and improved aperture but less macro capability. The front camera on the Pro models is 42 MP. The standard Pixel 10 is rumoured to have a third rear lens as well, though likely of lower resolution than the 48 MP sensor on the Pro models.
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is a foldable phone with an 8-inch main display and a potentially larger cover display than competitors like the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Battery capacity is expected to be larger on Pro models to enhance longevity compared to past Pixel phones.
Retail availability for the Pixel 10 series is set to begin on August 28, 2025. The leak has not been confirmed by Google as of yet, but it provides a comprehensive view of the Pixel 10 series prior to its official release, confirming key specs around display, camera, processing power, memory, and design consistent with high-end flagship standards.
Science and technology are at the forefront of the upcoming Pixel 10 series, as evidenced by the high-end specifications and groundbreaking features found in the new lineup. The Pixel 10 series, which includes the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and the innovative Pixel 10 Pro Fold, showcases Google's commitment to staying at the cutting edge of gadget innovation.
