**Samsung Unveils Galaxy Z Flip 7: A Significant Evolution in Clamshell Foldables**

Samsung has officially confirmed the release of its latest foldable clamshell smartphone, the Galaxy Z Flip 7. The device, set to compete with rivals like the Motorola Razr Ultra (2025), promises notable upgrades and enhancements over its predecessor, the Z Flip 6.

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 boasts a slightly larger main inner display, measuring approximately 6.85 inches compared to the previous model's 6.7 inches. The cover display, too, has seen a significant increase, growing from 3.4 inches to 4 inches. This expansion may allow for better usability and possibly the ability to run full apps natively.

Powering the device is the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, ensuring top-tier performance. The base model comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, with a 512GB variant also expected. The battery capacity has also received a substantial boost, increasing to 4,300 mAh, promising the longest battery life in the Flip series yet.

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 offers improved connectivity, supporting 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and using a USB 3.2 Type-C port. It also supports satellite messaging via the Exynos 2500 modem.

In terms of durability, the device has an IP48 rating for water and dust resistance, a Class A rating for drop reliability, and a Class C rating for repairability. Energy efficiency is rated Class B.

While the exact camera specs are not highlighted as new, the device is rumoured to retain similar cameras as the Galaxy Z Flip 6. The software will launch alongside the broader rollout of Android 16, potentially featuring exclusive Galaxy AI enhancements.

A hands-on video of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 has been posted online, showing the device in action for the first time. The video reveals that the device is a fair bit thinner than Samsung's past few generations. The open device in the video shows virtually no crease, suggesting it's a new device.

Pre-ordering the Galaxy Z Flip 7 or Z Fold 7 offers a $50 credit that can be used towards the purchase of the Galaxy Watch 8. Reserving a device does not obligate purchase. Reservations for both devices are open now on Samsung.com, and reserving can be done for free.

The widget panel on the Galaxy Z Flip 7 takes advantage of the larger cover display, allowing for four visible widgets at once. Reserving also offers 3x reward points and other perks. The device in the video appears to be black.

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is expected to have a bigger cover display compared to previous generations. The side profile of the device in the video looks thinner compared to prior generations. The $50 credit is a limited-time offer and not available at any other time.

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is set to be officially priced and released at Samsung's Unpacked event in July 2025. The device aims to compete strongly with rivals by improving key areas like display sizes, battery life, and functionality.
