Unveiled by BMW Motorrad, a new bike with nitrous oxide power - the R 1300 R - designed for swift, quick dashes.

BMW Motorrad has unveiled a custom, one-off motorcycle that combines innovative design with high-performance capabilities - the R 1300 R Titan. This unique bike, developed by BMW's R&D department, is designed specifically for 10-second sprints on the drag strip.

At its heart, the Titan is powered by a 1,300cc liquid-cooled boxer twin engine, which originally produces 145 horsepower and 149 Nm of torque in its standard form. However, the Titan's unique selling point is its nitrous oxide injection system, which can add an extra 30 to 40 horsepower when activated, achieved via a handlebar switch.

The Titan's custom titanium Akrapovic exhaust system enhances both the visual and acoustic performance of the bike, while the suspension and chassis have been optimised for performance with a Wilbers chassis and components from the M 1000 RR. The bike's bodywork is replaced by a one-piece carbon fiber monocoque, reducing its dry weight by 88 pounds compared to the stock R 1300 R.

The Titan's design is aggressive, reminiscent of a predatory cat, with a sharp front cowling featuring a razor-thin headlight, and a low-slung silhouette. The distance from the clip-on handlebars to the Alcantara saddle is long, and the body posture requires a crouched position. The footpegs have been moved quite far back, and the bike's fuel tank and TFT display are repositioned for optimal weight distribution.

The Titan's bodywork also houses the nitrous bottle, which is visibly integrated between the exhaust outlets. The bike's design is finished off with a video game-inspired livery in BMW's signature colour theme.

The Titan motorbike's unique design and high-performance capabilities make it an exciting addition to the world of custom motorcycles. While it may not be suitable for everyday commuting, it is sure to turn heads on the drag strip.

The nitrous oxide injection system in the Titan, activated via a handlebar switch, adds an extra 30 to 40 horsepower, transforming this high-performance motorcycle into a noteworthy contender in the world of drag strip events. Despite its unconventional design, reminiscent of a predatory cat, this custom gadget, with its advanced technology and unique features, is bound to captivate both tech enthusiasts and motorcycle enthusiasts alike.
