United Arab Emirates has earned the title of the fastest mobile network globally, marking its fourth victory, according to Ookla's latest report.

e& UAE Named World's Fastest Mobile Network for 2025

e& UAE has once again made history in the global telecommunications industry, as it was awarded the World's Fastest Mobile Network for 2025 by Ookla. This is the fourth time e& UAE has received global recognition for its mobile network, and the first time it has been named the World's Fastest 5G Network.

Hatem Dowidar, Group Chief Executive Officer at e&, described the fourth global recognition as a "historic Fantastic-4 moment" for e& and the UAE. He emphasised the importance of fast, reliable connectivity as the foundation for digitally empowered societies.

The record-breaking 5G speed achieved by e& UAE played a significant role in securing the award. The company recorded the world's fastest live 5G network speed of 30.5 Gbps by aggregating multiple carriers across high-band mmWave and mid-band C-band spectrums (1600 MHz and 300 MHz respectively). This demonstrates exceptional network capacity and technology sophistication.

e& UAE also leads globally in overall mobile download speeds, outpacing competitors significantly in both 4G and 5G performance metrics. This dominance spans download/upload speeds and quality of video and gaming experiences, according to Ookla and Opensignal reports.

Innovations such as the region's first private 5G network with advanced slicing for industrial automation, AI-powered drone inspections for infrastructure, and commercially launched network slicing solutions tailored for diverse enterprise sectors have also contributed to e& UAE's success.

The company's strategic spectrum use and technological advancement have also been key factors. e& UAE successfully tested new frequency bands (6 GHz and 600 MHz) allocated by the UAE Regulatory Authority for mobile services, paving the way for enhanced nationwide coverage and performance. Their roadmap toward 6G readiness by 2030 also positions them as future-focused leaders.

The UAE government's prioritisation of digital infrastructure investment, including fiber optics and 5G rollout, alongside healthy competition with other operators like du, drives continuous improvement in network quality and speeds across the country.

Dowidar expressed gratitude towards the employees and customers who contributed to e& UAE's success. He attributed e& UAE's success to vision, speed, reliability, and determination.

This achievement is a significant boost for the UAE's telecommunications sector, marking a significant milestone for e& UAE in the global telecommunications industry. As a result, e& UAE has become the first and only network worldwide to have achieved this milestone of receiving four global recognitions. In addition to the World's Fastest Mobile Network title, e& UAE was also named the GCC's Fastest Fixed Broadband Network for 2025.

The UAE's mobile technology, represented by e& UAE, has been identified as the World's Fastest 5G Network for 2025, a general-news headline worth celebrating. This recognition follows e& UAE's leadership in overall mobile download speeds and their record-breaking 5G speed achieved through the use of advanced spectrums and network capacity.
