Draw and Schedule
The draw for the UEFA Champions League 2025-26 is set for Thursday, August 28, 2025, at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco. The league phase will begin on September 16, 2025, and run until January 28, 2026. Each club will play a total of 8 matches, with 4 home and 4 away games.
Qualification and Advancement
The top 8 teams after the league phase will advance directly to the Round of 16. Meanwhile, the 9th-24th placed teams will enter a two-legged play-off for the remaining knockout spots. The 25th-36th placed teams will be eliminated after the league phase.
Qualifying Rounds
The qualifying rounds for the UEFA Champions League 2025-26 will follow the Swiss-style league system, which was recently introduced. The teams in each pot are distributed based on UEFA rankings and coefficients.
For the Champions Path (third qualifying round), the teams in Group 1 are Copenhagen, Red Star Belgrade, Slovan Bratislava, Lech Poznań, Malmö FF, Kairat, Ferencváros, and Pafos. Group 2 consists of Qarabağ, Ludogorets Razgrad, Dynamo Kyiv, Shkëndija, and the unseeded teams are yet to be announced.
In the League Path (third qualifying round), the seeded teams are Benfica, Club Brugge, Rangers, and Feyenoord. The unseeded teams include Red Bull Salzburg, Fenerbahçe, Viktoria Plzeň, and Nice.
Broadcasting Rights
For Indian viewers, the Sony Sports Network holds the broadcasting rights for UEFA competitions. The draw ceremony will be streamed live on the SonyLiv app and website, with the ceremony for Indian viewers beginning around 11:30 PM IST.
The Final
The UEFA Champions League 2025-26 will culminate with the final on May 30, 2026, at the Puskás Aréna, Budapest.
