Traveline Scotland Empowers Users With Enhanced Eco-Friendly Journey Planning
Transport Secretary Fiona Hyslop has commended the recent enhancements to Traveline Scotland, a service that empowers users to make better-informed travel decisions while promoting eco-friendly choices. The improvements align with the National Transport Strategy's goals and are part of the Scottish Government's Programme for Government 2024-25 commitments.
The revamped service, developed collaboratively with transport operators, Transport Scotland, and Traveline Scotland, offers users the ability to tailor search results based on their preferences, such as the quickest route, fewest changes, step-free access, or lowest carbon footprint. It provides comprehensive information on all public transport modes, cycle schemes, ticket details, and total journey costs.
The enhancements include a refreshed journey planner, timetables, next departures, and real-time travel updates. The new Traveline Scotland website and app, launched by Transform Scotland, aim to simplify journey planning across multiple transport modes. This is the first of several planned enhancements, supporting a shift towards sustainable public transport.
The Scottish Government-funded Traveline Scotland service has been significantly improved, offering users more options to plan their journeys sustainably. The enhancements align with national transport goals and are part of the government's commitment to making transport more accessible, affordable, and available.
