Toyo Ink Europe Unveils Steraflex GIO: World's First Latex Ink for Acrylic & Metal Surfaces
Toyo Ink Europe has launched Steraflex GIO, a new flexographic printing ink that meets various European regulatory requirements. This innovation allows latex-based inks to bond effectively with acrylic and metal surfaces, a first of its kind worldwide.
Boston Industrial Solutions developed the adhesion promoter that enables this breakthrough. Steraflex GIO, now available from Toyo Ink Europe, offers superior print and press performance on most label substrates. It demonstrates significantly improved bond strength, even on low surface tension substrates like BOPP. The new ink's enhanced adhesion makes it suitable for challenging applications.
Meanwhile, Brilliant Group has introduced its Low Migration Fluorescent Ink Base (LMB) series for lithographic ink systems. This series addresses industry demand for food-safe, compliant, and high-performance printing solutions.
Steraflex GIO is fully compliant with EuPIA, Swiss Ordinance, and the German Ink Ordinance. It is free from intentionally added photo initiator 379, aligning with current and upcoming requirements. Both innovations, Steraflex GIO and the LMB series, are set to make significant impacts in their respective markets.
