Tesla's updated Model 3 now boasts a top range, prompting a price decrease for other variants.
Tesla Announces Price Reductions and New Variants for Model 3 in Europe
Tesla, the leading electric vehicle manufacturer, has made several significant changes to its Model 3 lineup in Europe. The changes include price reductions for certain variants, the introduction of a new variant, and a discount for new customers.
Firstly, the mid-range Model 3 with a large battery and all-wheel drive (LR AWD) has seen a price reduction. The new price for this model is €49,990, a decrease of €1,500 from its previous price. This reduction could indicate a reaction to low demand, but Tesla has not provided a specific reason for the price adjustment.
In addition to the price reduction, Tesla has added a new variant to the European Model 3 lineup. The LR RWD Model 3, with a starting price of €44,990, is now available. This variant is claimed to be the most efficient Tesla ever built and boasts a certified WLTP range of 702 kilometers. Notably, the range of the LR RWD Model 3 exceeds the range of the more expensive Model S, with a range of 634 kilometers.
The smallest Model 3 variant, the RWD, had its price increased by €1,500 in July in anticipation of EU tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles. However, Tesla has now reduced the price of the RWD Model 3 back down to €39,990, a decrease of €2,500.
Tesla has also reduced the prices of two out of the three other Highland Model 3 variants by up to €2,500. The price of the Model 3 Performance, however, remains at its increased price of €58,490.
New Tesla customers can take advantage of a €1,000 discount on Model 3 and other models using a referral code. This offer is available for new Tesla customers, suggesting that existing customers may not be eligible.
The tariffs on Tesla's electric vehicles were initially discussed at a rate of 21%, but they are expected to be significantly lower than initially feared, with a current rate of 7.8%. Ongoing negotiations between the EU and China are taking place for a possible alternative solution before the final tariffs are imposed in November.
While the search results do not provide information about the name of the manager or team responsible for the decision to reduce prices and expand the selection of Tesla Model 3 variants in Europe, these changes indicate Tesla's commitment to making its electric vehicles more accessible and efficient for European customers.
