Tesla's New Standard Models Arrive in US; Canadians Await Availability
Tesla has recently expanded its affordable lineup in the U.S. with the launch of the Model 3 Standard and Model Y Standard. However, Canadian customers await clarity on availability.
The Model 3 Standard, priced at US$36,990, offers a range of 321 miles (517 km) and a top speed of 130 mph (209 km/h). Deliveries are slated for December 2025 to January 2026. Unfortunately, due to current tariff situations, it's unlikely this model will reach Canada.
Tesla has renamed its trims, with 'Long Range' now dubbed 'Premium'. The Model Y Standard, starting at US$39,990, shares the same range and offers a top speed of 125 mph (201 km/h). It's expected to arrive in November 2025, with a higher chance of Canadian availability later this year.
Tesla's new Standard models bring more affordable options to U.S. customers. While Canadians eagerly await official information, the Model Y Standard seems more likely to cross the border before the end of 2025.
