HUSTLE AND BUSTLE OF HCM CITY – Onlookers flock to Bạch Đằng Wharf (District 1) to witness a captivating drone performance. But behind the scenes, Vietnam's telecom providers are working tirelessly to ensure seamless communication during the city's peak, including a series of large-scale events celebrating the 50th anniversary of national reunification.

Taking a cue from the Ministry of Science and Technology's Official Dispatch No. 792/BKHCN-CVT, telecom giants like Viettel, MobiFone, and VNPT are pulling out all the stops to maintain stability and reliability in their networks. With the influx of tourists and locals putting pressure on local telecommunications infrastructure, Ho Chi Minh City has become a priority for the providers, needing both technological expertise and manpower.

VNPT, the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group, is leading the charge, significantly increasing mobile broadcasting capacity at 18 strategic locations across the city. This multi-pronged approach allows them to manage the surge in data traffic from residents, travelers, law enforcement officials, media representatives, and more. In addition, they have set up dedicated transmission lines to support Việt Nam Television's live broadcasts of major commemorative events.

For the convenience of domestic and international reporters, VNPT is also providing internet and Wi-Fi services at the HCM City Press Centre, ensuring a prompt and efficient flow of content. Operating under a contingency framework, VNPT's network benefits from rapid-response protocols to tackle any potential disruptions.

Amid the holiday hustle, temporary mobile base stations and mobile signal vans have been deployed in event zones, ready to handle peak usage at 57 event sites and popular tourist destinations. To preemptively manage technical issues, VNPT has mobilized 3,000 engineers who are stationed both remotely and on-site around the clock.

Meanwhile, Viettel Group has rolled out 945 technical enhancements explicitly for Ho Chi Minh City, with critical areas like parade routes, Thủ Thiêm Tunnel, and major thoroughfares receiving extra attention. Advanced technologies like artificial intelligence and automated monitoring systems help in real-time traffic prediction, intelligent data rerouting, and load balancing.

Viettel has established a three-level response model, comprising on-site teams, network monitoring, and rapid response at the scene. In areas with limited equipment mobility, such as parade zones, fixed duty teams are equipped with resources and personnel, prepared to handle incidents on the spot.

MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation is taking preventative measures against network congestion by allocating resources in 33 areas within HCM City. Mobile broadcasting is made available at 38 locations, including two mobile vehicles and 36 mobile modules, in areas featuring parades, marches, fireworks displays, and festivals. To offer high-speed experiences to customers, 77 5G stations are deployed.

In addition, MobiFone has activated its nationwide network protection plan since mid-April, with strategies like increasing operator and information rescue personnel, optimized scheduling of shifts, and remote connection channels with technical contacts from strategic partners in place.

Artificial intelligence and machine learning are harnessed by businesses to monitor and optimize the network, allowing early identification and resolution of problems, thereby enhancing network resilience. A 18001090 hotline is available during the holiday period to address and swiftly resolve customer queries.

These extensive efforts by telecom companies display their unwavering commitment to meeting the high communication demands in Ho Chi Minh City amidst the city's vibrant festivities and heightened connectivity requirements. So, go ahead, capture the memories, enjoy the crowd, and rest assured that the network is in capable hands. VNS.
