Synthetic Eyes Version 2025.5: Camera Collaborates with Artificial Intelligence in Motion Tracking Estimation

SynthEyes, a leading solution in 3D match-moving, has unveiled its latest update, SynthEyes 2025.5. This version brings a host of new features and improvements designed to accelerate and enhance 3D match-moving workflows.

AI-Powered Motion Estimation

The highlight of SynthEyes 2025.5 is the introduction of ML Motion Estimation, a new AI-powered motion tracking mode. This innovative feature uses deep learning to compute dense, per-pixel optical flow between frames, enabling more reliable tracking of challenging shots. It excels in handling smooth surfaces, low texture, fast motion, blurriness, flicker, or occlusion where traditional feature-based tracking might struggle [1][2][3].

Flexible Lens Workflow Export

SynthEyes 2025.5 delivers a non-destructive, export-only lens undistort/redistort workflow. Users can now preserve their camera solves and timelines while applying distortion corrections at export time, avoiding baked-in errors and maintaining scene reversibility. The export interface is consistent and customizable, allowing choice of margin, resolution, and compatibility with various pipelines [1][3].

Attach Objects Fast with Mesh-to-Tracker Parenting

The new Attach Objects Fast feature allows users to instantly parent 3D mesh objects to trackers with a single click inside the viewport. The mesh geometry and pivot snap to the tracker and stay attached throughout solves, preserving export hierarchies compatible with 3D and compositing tools. Pivot and offset adjustments remain editable without breaking the parent-child relationship, significantly speeding up layout and iteration [1][2][3].

Additional Improvements

Besides these headline features, the update includes enhancements like improved Mask ML mattes control, overall faster and higher-quality camera solves, and streamlined pipeline reliability across exports, reducing everyday hassles for matchmove artists [1][2][3][4][5].

Product specialist Christoph Zapletal explains the new Lens Workflow dropdown, which automatically applies lens distortion correction at export to avoid unnecessary VFX issues downstream. Ben Brownlee, director of content, highlights the features, while VFX artist Kalvin Kingdon demonstrates the use of the Parent Mesh to Tracker option, from basic parenting to advanced applications.

SynthEyes 2025.5 is a free update for users on an active SynthEyes subscription or upgrade & support plan. It is now available. This version aims to harness AI for more precise and faster auto-tracking, simplify lens distortion workflows with export flexibility, enable rapid object attachment, and deliver robust, pipeline-friendly exports to save artists time and reduce headaches [1][2][3].
