Stock market in Warsaw introduces inaugural Bitcoin Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF) product for Polish investors.
The Warsaw Stock Exchange (GPW) has made a significant stride in the world of financial technology by launching Poland's first Bitcoin Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF). This innovative product, dubbed the Bitcoin BETA ETF, is set to offer regulated access to Bitcoin futures for Polish investors.
The Bitcoin BETA ETF, managed by AgioFunds TFI SA, includes an FX hedge to manage currency risks through forward contracts. This feature makes it unique in Poland's market, shielding investors from foreign exchange risks. The fund tracks Bitcoin futures listed on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), a prominent platform for crypto derivatives.
The launch of the Bitcoin BETA ETF reflects growing investor interest in transparent and regulated exposure to digital assets. AgioFunds TFI SA issued two series of investment certificates, A and B, following the approval by the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) on June 17, 2025.
To ensure liquidity and stable trading, certificates for the Bitcoin BETA ETF have been designed to enhance liquidity. Dom Maklerski Banku Ochrony Srodowiska S.A. has been appointed as the market maker for the ETF, a move aimed at promoting efficient market functioning and liquidity for the Bitcoin BETA ETF.
The launch of the Bitcoin BETA ETF has contributed to the growing popularity of ETFs on the GPW. Currently, GPW hosts 16 ETFs, covering both local and international indexes, including benchmarks like the S&P 500, Nasdaq-100, and DAX.
The introduction of the Bitcoin BETA ETF strengthens Poland's position in the global ETF market. It positions the GPW among global financial hubs like the U.S. and Germany, attracting international attention and investment.
For Polish investors, the Bitcoin BETA ETF provides a secure and regulated investment path to Bitcoin, offering a new asset class in their investment portfolios. The launch of this ETF is a testament to the evolving financial landscape in Poland and the growing demand for innovative financial products.
