Southeast Asia's Initial Battery-Swapping Station Equipped with Artificial Intelligence is Now Active, Courtesy of U Power
In a significant step towards sustainable mobility, U Power Limited has successfully launched Southeast Asia's first operational AI-integrated battery-swapping station in Phuket, Thailand. This station, developed through a joint venture with SUSCO Public Company Limited, serves electric taxis and ride-hailing fleets with 24/7 operation capability and utilizes zero-carbon, weather-resistant technology.
The Thailand Station, as it is called, is designed to handle severe tropical climate conditions, making it an ideal solution for Phuket's tropical environment. It supports rapid battery swaps within minutes and integrates with U Power’s Battery-bank system, enabling drivers to earn battery tokens as incentives. This marks the completion of U Power’s end-to-end battery-swapping ecosystem in the region, following the delivery of Southeast Asia’s first battery-swapping-compatible electric taxi fleet in May 2025.
U Power's vision is to build a comprehensive battery-swapping ecosystem that delivers smart, reliable, and zero-carbon energy solutions for energy grids and transportation systems. The Thailand Station, being the first zero-carbon battery-swapping station in the region, is a testament to this vision.
Regarding expansion, U Power is pursuing a global growth strategy through strategic partnerships. They have agreements with Beijing Foton for electric heavy vehicles and plans to deploy 5,000 swappable EVs in Singapore. Additionally, U Power is planning projects in Macau, Hong Kong, Europe, and South America. Their expansion is built on their comprehensive "Vehicle-Station-Cloud-Token" framework, aiming to replicate this AI-powered, zero-carbon battery-swapping model across broader ASEAN regions and other continents.
This positions U Power as a leader in smart, sustainable EV infrastructure with concrete steps toward broader regional and international presence. With the Thailand Station now operational, U Power is addressing a critical challenge in mobility energy by deploying its smart swapping stations across countries and continents.
