Yamaha Introduces the High-End True X Surround 90A Soundbar System

Yamaha has unveiled its latest offering in home theater sound systems, the True X Surround 90A. This high-end soundbar system promises to deliver an immersive audio experience with its advanced beam speaker technology and wireless surround setup.

The soundbar itself is sleek and slim, standing approximately 71-85 mm (2.8-3.3 inches) tall, and houses multiple speaker units. The front speakers are rebuilt and consist of four full-range drivers and three tweeters, shaped like eyes to allow for a slimmer form factor.

The True X Surround 90A system boasts a total of 19 speakers, including 12 ultra-precise DSP-controlled up-firing beam speakers that deliver realistic height effects. These speakers, six per side, surpass traditional up-firing drivers to create superior vertical sound imaging.

The system also includes a custom-designed Symmetrical Flare Port® subwoofer for powerful and distortion-free bass. The high-frequencies of the soundbar are also claimed to be impressive.

The surround speakers in the True X Surround 90A system are wireless and can be used as standalone Bluetooth speakers. The system supports Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and the world's first AURO-3D-compatible soundbar, including the Auro-Matic upmixer to enhance stereo sources.

Yamaha's Surround:AI processing, inherited from premium AV receivers, optimizes surround sound automatically based on the content. Connectivity options include two HDMI ports (one with eARC), digital optical audio, Ethernet for Wi-Fi, and compatibility with AirPlay 2, Spotify, Deezer, and Amazon Music.

The system is integrated with Yamaha’s MusicCast network system for easy multi-room audio control via the MusicCast app. The Yamaha YDA-141 high-performance amplifier powers the array of beam and traditional speakers. The soundbar can be placed on stands or wall-mounted without obstructing TV view.

The Yamaha True X Surround 90A (SR-X90A) will be available in the UK from September, priced at £2,499. The US, European, and Australian pricing for the Yamaha True X Surround 90A is yet to be announced.

First launched in 2004 by Yamaha, the True X Surround 90A marks the company's entry into beam forming speaker systems. With its advanced technology and immersive audio capabilities, the True X Surround 90A is set to redefine home theater sound experiences.
