Smiths Detection Unveils SDX 10080 SCT: High-Volume CT Scanner for Airports
Smiths Detection has unveiled the SDX 10080 SCT, a new dual-energy Computed Tomography (CT) scanner, at the inter airport show in Munich. The scanner, which uses a common EDS platform, is designed for high-volume screening environments and can handle over 1,800 bags per hour.
The SDX 10080 SCT features a 100 x 80 cm tunnel, offering a reduced height for simplified installation. It combines elements from the HI-SCAN 10080 XCT and CTZ 9800 scanners, providing 3D and optional 2D high resolution colour images at a belt speed of 0.5 metres per second.
The scanner's dual-view, dual-energy line scanner and scalable, adaptable modular design make it ideal for high-volume screening. It also boasts optimal iCMORE algorithms for extended detection capabilities and a simplified air-based cooling system for lower operating costs.
The SDX 10080 SCT is the first CT scanner to use a common EDS platform for Smiths Detection. With its advanced features and high throughput, it is set to enhance security screening in airports and other high-volume environments.
