Smart upgrade to Samsung refrigerators through One UI enhancement, increasing their intelligence significantly

Samsung is taking a significant step forward in the world of smart home appliances with the introduction of its One UI software. Starting from September 2025, a wide range of Samsung appliances will receive this upgrade, including refrigerators, washing machines, tumble dryers, air conditioners, and slide-in induction ranges.

The 2024 and 2025 line-ups of washing machines will also benefit from this update, as will Samsung's air conditioners. This marks the first time One UI has been added to Samsung's line-up of home appliances, signifying the company's commitment to providing a more connected and secure user experience.

One UI offers a number of advantages. It enables appliances to provide more personalized and relevant information, such as weather updates, recipes, schedules, and home insights. Bixby voice control, Samsung TV Plus, Samsung SmartThings, and Gallery will now be available across all screen types for seamless device interactions and entertainment.

Bixby, with Voice ID, can now recognize user voices on shared devices for personalized experiences. The upgrade also enhances Bixby to support Voice ID, adding an extra layer of security and convenience.

In terms of security, screen appliances will be updated with Knox Security, Passkey support, and Credential Synch encryption as part of the One UI upgrade. This ensures that users' data remains safe and secure.

Samsung is also committing to 7 years of software updates for its appliances to prolong their lifespan and keep them up-to-date with any changes and features. This commitment to long-term support is a testament to Samsung's dedication to providing its customers with the best possible experience.

The team responsible for developing and implementing software upgrades for smart home devices from 2025 onwards is primarily the team behind the SmartThings platform and its integration within Samsung Electronics' ecosystem. This includes SmartThings Pro for B2B solutions and deeply integrates the Matter standard across multiple device categories.

It can be assumed that this also means the screens on Samsung fridges will now support these features, offering a more interactive and personalized user experience. The One UI upgrade is designed to offer long-term software support, advanced security, and AI features to Samsung's smart home appliances, making them an even more integral part of modern living.
