Skechers introduced new children's footwear equipped with secret compartments for AirTags, promising enhanced parental reassurance

In a move to provide parents with peace of mind, Skechers has launched a new line of kids' sneakers called "Find My Skechers." These innovative shoes feature a hidden compartment inside the heel or under the insole, designed to hold an Apple AirTag for tracking purposes.

The hidden AirTag compartment is discreet and comfortable for kids, making it an appealing alternative to traditional GPS trackers that are often clipped to jackets or backpacks. The compartment is accessed by lifting the sneaker's insole and a fabric web liner, revealing a plastic slot recessed into the midsole that securely holds the AirTag.

The AirTag, which uses Bluetooth tracking rather than GPS, can be tracked via the Find My app on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, or iCloud website. Skechers claims that the fabric and casing of the shoes will not block the wireless signal for the AirTag.

The shoes do not come with an AirTag included and are not an official Apple collaboration. Instead, they are a third-party Skechers product. The shoes are priced around $52-58 per pair and support current and potentially future AirTag models.

Safety features of the AirTag include alerts if an unknown AirTag is tracking someone, and the device will emit a sound if undiscovered for some time, to prevent stalking misuse. The shoes are designed to be unobtrusive, unlike many GPS trackers for kids that are smartwatches, and are less likely to be lost compared to a smartwatch or a GPS tracker clipped to a jacket or backpack.

The "Find My Skechers" line includes sizes ranging from toddler to eight years old. The shoes do not have any branding that would indicate a tracker is inside, making them appear like any other Skechers shoe. This offers a more covert way to track children's whereabouts, providing parents with an additional layer of security in places like malls or school.

This innovation follows various existing ways parents incorporate AirTags into children's items but offers a clean, factory-designed solution integrated into footwear. It's important to note that the hidden AirTag shoe is not a smartwatch, a new iPhone model, or covered by the iOS 26 preview.

With the "Find My Skechers" line, Skechers aims to provide parents with a discreet and convenient way to keep track of their children's whereabouts, offering peace of mind in today's fast-paced world.

The "Find My Skechers" shoes, equipped with an AirTag compartment, offer a discretely embedded tracking solution for kids, integrating technology into a wearable lifestyle product. This innovative footwear provides parents with an alternative to traditional GPS trackers, avoiding the conspicuous gadgets that often hinder a child's daily activities. Moreover, regarding family dynamics, these shoes can enhance relationships by offering peace of mind, especially when children are in public places like malls or school.
