Sharjah Council Approves 1,500 Land Grants, Launches Census 2025
Sharjah's government has announced significant initiatives to benefit its residents and businesses. The Sharjah Council has approved land grants for 1,500 beneficiaries, while also launching the 'Sharjah Census 2025' to gather comprehensive data on the emirate's population.
The Sharjah Council has approved the second batch of 1,500 land grants, split equally between residential and investment purposes. This move aims to support the emirate's growth and development.
The council has also launched the 'Sharjah Census 2025', which will be conducted in three phases. The first phase involves telephone interviews starting from October 15, followed by field interviews commencing on November 3. The final phase, population estimates, is scheduled for early January 2026. The census seeks to collect detailed demographic, social, and economic data to inform decision-making and planning.
In addition, the council has issued a resolution to support small and medium-sized businesses owned by Emirati entrepreneurs. This resolution exempts members from government agency fees for five years, and halves the fees for an additional two years if they are engaged in industrial activity. This move aims to foster entrepreneurial growth and boost the emirate's economy.
The Sharjah Council's approval of 1,500 land grants and the launch of the 'Sharjah Census 2025' demonstrate the government's commitment to supporting residents and businesses. The census results, to be published in the first and second quarters of 2026, are expected to provide valuable insights for future planning and development in the emirate.
