Saudi Arabia Launches Global Mining Innovation Competition
Saudi Arabia is set to host the Global Minerals Innovation Competition, 'Future Minerals Pioneers', aimed at fostering innovation in mining and positioning the Kingdom as a global leader in sustainable mining. The competition, backed by the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources and the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP), welcomes teams of four to seven innovators aged 18 and above, focusing on smart technologies, safety, security, and long-term resource sustainability.
The competition, launched under Saudi Vision 2030, which sees mining as a key economic driver, will span three stages, culminating in a grand finale at the Fifth Future Minerals Forum in Riyadh in January 2026. The event aims to create an ecosystem of innovation, connecting ideas with opportunities and accelerating the adoption of advanced technologies in mining. Ma'aden, Saudi Arabia's largest mining company, and ESNAD are main partners of the competition.
The competition seeks to attract global talent, fostering collaboration and driving innovation in the mining sector. It aligns with Saudi Arabia's ambition to become a world leader in sustainable mining practices.
