Samsung Introduces New Line of Smartphones - Samsung-branded mobile devices
Samsung has taken a significant leap forward in the realm of AI-integrated smartphones with the launch of its latest foldable devices, the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7. Both devices showcase impressive advancements in AI capabilities, leveraging Samsung's latest AI platform and software enhancements to deliver highly intuitive and context-aware experiences.
The Galaxy Z Fold7, priced between 999 euros to 1,059 euros, boasts a 6.5-inch cover display, offering a wider screen area compared to its predecessor. When unfolded, it reveals an 8-inch main display. Powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, this device promises significant performance improvements and is optimized for AI functions.
On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Flip7, available for pre-order and set to hit the shelves on July 25, comes in four vibrant colours: Blue Shadow, Jetblack, Coralred, and Mint (exclusively online). Priced between 1,199 euros to 1,319 euros, depending on the chosen storage capacity, this device is the thinnest in the Flip series to date, weighing 188 grams and measuring 13.7 millimeters thick when folded. It features a dual-camera system on the back, comprising a 50MP wide-angle and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera.
The Galaxy Z Fold7, described as the "ultimate expression of Samsung's craftsmanship" and a device "developed for the era of mobile AI", offers a powerful, context-aware AI assistant optimized for productivity and creativity on a large screen. With on-device AI processing, users can enjoy faster, seamless tasks such as real-time language translation and Generative Edit, enhancing creativity and productivity.
The device runs One UI 8 on Android 16, featuring a multimodal AI assistant called Gemini Live that understands what users type, say, and see. It allows users to interact through voice or text without toggling between apps. The AI is optimized for the large foldable screen, enabling multitasking with intelligent tools that enhance camera functions and privacy. Gemini Live supports screen sharing and camera sharing, allowing users to show the AI what they see for contextual questions and instant insights.
The Galaxy Z Flip7, meanwhile, introduces a "Pocket-Perfect AI" experience with the new FlexWindow. This feature offers AI-powered voice interactions and hands-free task management directly on the cover screen. Users can perform tasks like looking up flight details, setting reminders, or finding restaurants by voice command. The AI delivers personalization tailored to style and routine, including dynamic wallpaper suggestions, emojis, colour, and widget customization that evolve with the user.
Samsung's new "Galaxy-AI Era" will offer numerous AI-supported functions, including summarizing internet articles, providing weather updates, creating images, and answering context-based questions. The ProVisual Engine in the Galaxy Z Fold7 ensures faster and more detailed image processing. A "true AI companion" was mentioned during the presentation of the Galaxy Z Fold7.
The Galaxy Z Flip7 has a 6.9-inch main display and a 4.1-inch front display. The device is thinner and lighter than its predecessors, weighing around 215 grams and being 8.9 millimeters thick when folded, and 4.2 millimeters when unfolded. The main camera of the Galaxy Z Fold7 is a 200-megapixel wide-angle camera, while the Galaxy Z Flip7 features a 50MP wide-angle and 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera on the back.

I'm not going to be able to get to the phone right now to pre-order the Galaxy Z Flip7, as it's only available from July 25.
