Sales of Ather Rizta Top 100,000 Units Marked
The electric scooter market is abuzz with excitement as Ather Energy's latest offering, the Ather Rizta, has surpassed the 1 lakh sales milestone within a year of production.
At its launch, Ather Energy claimed that the Ather Rizta boasts the biggest seat in the family scooter segment, a feature that has resonated well with customers. The scooter's underseat storage space of 34-litres is also one of the biggest in the competition, providing ample room for daily essentials.
The Ather Rizta's performance has been appreciated, offering a humble yet quick ride that is more than adequate for daily chores. Its impressive sales figures are further evidenced by the fact that in April 2025, Ather Energy sold 13,663 electric scooters, with 73% of those sales consisting of the Ather Rizta. This figure escalated to 99,691 units between July 2024 and April 2025, making the Ather Rizta Ather Energy's best-selling product and contributing 58% of the company's sales volume.
Ather Energy's CEO and co-founder, Tarun Mehta, revealed future plans in an interview with Siddharth Vinayak Patankar. The company is expanding its R&D facilities with new plants and higher production capacity, aiming to meet the growing demand for its electric scooters.
Ather Energy is not just confined to its strong base in South India. The company has presented its electric scooters in cities including Agra (Uttar Pradesh), Mandsaur and Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh), Sundargarh (Odisha), Vadodara (Gujarat), and Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh). With plans to increase its experience centres from over 500 to 700 by the end of FY26, Ather Energy is actively expanding into tier 2 and 3 cities, primarily targeting Middle and North India.
In addition to its presence in Mumbai and Delhi-NCR, Ather Energy is also looking to expand its footprint in the country. Last year, the company entered Sri-Lanka with the 450X, and plans to export the Rizta there as well.
Ather Energy went public earlier this year and plans to raise ₹2,981 crore. The company is also actively working on updating its in-house developed interface, AtherStack, for new features. These new features are expected to be rolled out via OTA updates for the Ather Rizta.
The success of the Ather Rizta is a testament to Ather Energy's commitment to innovation and quality. With its focus on expanding both geographically and technologically, Ather Energy is poised to continue its growth in the electric scooter market.
