Russian telecom service providers encountering difficulties
Latest Update: As of 11:42 Moscow time, a shocking number of complaints have poured in over the past hour. Beeline - 5,700, MTS - 7,300, and T2 - 425. Complaints have been received from Megafon, Yota, T-Mobile, and Rostelecom customers as well. The majority of reports indicate issues with mobile internet, primarily in Moscow and the Moscow region.
Additionally, Downdetector is reporting troubles with Telegram and WhatsApp (owned by Meta, commonly recognized as extremist and banned in Russia). Users are encountering difficulties sending messages and uploading multimedia.
The root cause of this disruption remains unclear. Beeline has informed TASS that mobile coverage in Moscow may be experiencing temporary interruptions due to factors beyond their control. Users are suggested to connect to Wi-Fi for internet access. The Moscow Emergency Situations Ministry shares that warnings are being sent out to Muscovites about potential internet access limitations. These warnings declare that they are linked to ensuring the safety of holiday events.
