Russian banking corporation VTB has procured 13,000 tablets, intended for client interactions.

In a significant move towards technological independence, VTB Bank has acquired 13,000 KVADRA_T tablets from Russian developer YADRO. This purchase is part of VTB's ongoing policy to replace imported equipment with domestic alternatives, particularly for client service devices.

The tablets, running on the proprietary YADRO kvadraOS, were manufactured to VTB's specifications in Dubna, Moscow region. This marks the second purchase by VTB from YADRO, following an initial supply of around 5,000 tablets in a previous transaction.

Sergei Kitayev, Vice President of VTB and Head of User Support, highlighted the importance of modern technology and business needs in today's world. He emphasized the need for increased employee mobility, universality of solutions, operational stability, mobility, and portability. According to Kitayev, these features allow for faster and more convenient customer service at points of sale and the development of service by field managers.

Dmitry Cherkasov, General Director of KVADRA, expressed his pleasure about the trust placed in KVADRA by VTB. He noted that the KVADRA_T tablets have become part of VTB's large-scale import substitution program. Cherkasov also mentioned KVADRA's ability to create comprehensive custom solutions, including adapting the operating system to the client's tasks and individual design of accessories. He highlighted KVADRA's strong engineering team and full control over the tech stack as enabling quick and efficient adaptation to the needs of corporate clients.

The chosen architecture allows for quick and efficient full compatibility with VTB's service apps and device management systems. The operating system's deep adaptability to the bank's tasks is due to KVADRA's in-house engineering team and tight integration of software and hardware platforms.

Transitions such as this ensure the bank's technological independence and promote the systematic development of the domestic industry. In fact, in 2025, additional purchases are planned. This move aligns with VTB's agreement in 2023-2024 to supply more than 50,000 laptops, tablet computers, stationary phones, and smartphones from Russian manufacturers YADRO, "Rikor", and "Aquarius".

The 13,000 KVADRA_T tablets supplied to the bank in August are part of the aforementioned office equipment import substitution program in the bank. Vendor developed and branded protective cases in VTB's corporate style further underscore the bank's commitment to this initiative.

As the bank continues to implement this policy, it is expected that the KVADRA_T tablets will enable fast, high-quality, and technologically advanced client service in VTB branches, contributing to the bank's overall efficiency and customer satisfaction.
