Hey there! Get ready to dodge another delay, Shock fans! Nightdive Studios' remaster of the timeless classic, System Shock 2, has hit another snag - but this one's just for console gamers.

The game's 25th Anniversary Remaster was originally scheduled to drop on June 26. However, it seems that consoles, including Xbox, Switch, and PlayStation, are experiencing some unspecified technical difficulties, causing the release to be bumped back to "the first two weeks of July." But fear not, PC peeps – your version is still on for the original date, June 26!

Over on Bluesky, Nightdive broke the news, stating that they've run into issues preventing the console launch on the intended June 26. But hey, no problem, they've got an all-star team working around the clock to iron out the creases and fix things right up in a jiffy.

The delay on console versions doesn’t mean PC gamers can't join the party since Nightdive bravely decided to press on with the Steam, GOG, Epic, and Humble launch on June 26. They'll be sharing a more specific console launch date with us soon!

One can't help but wonder if Nightdive contemplated delaying the PC version to match the console launch, which - to be honest - I find a bit perplexing, but hey, at least it didn’t happen!

I'm still incredibly hyped about the System Shock 2 Remaster. I reckon Nightdive did a smashing job with their spine-tingling remake of System Shock 1, but I craved more daring alterations for a full-on, capital-R Remake, ya know? For a remaster, though, I'm all about keeping things pretty much as is – let's have the game we love with a fresh, spruced-up look. Based on the signs, the SS2 remaster seems destined to be just that. Can't wait!
