Aviva Investors, a leading global asset manager, has made two significant appointments to expand its global equities team. Nicholette MacDonald-Brown and Matt Bennison have joined the firm, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to the table.

Nicholette MacDonald-Brown has taken on the role of Global Head of Active Equities at Aviva Investors. With over two decades of experience in equity fund management, MacDonald-Brown reports directly to Daniel McHugh, the Chief Investment Officer at Aviva Investors, as part of his senior leadership team.

Before joining Aviva Investors, MacDonald-Brown was the head of sustainable equities at Lombard Odier Investment Management. Prior to that, she led European blend equities at Schroders. MacDonald-Brown began her career at Goldman Sachs Asset Management in 2000. Notably, MacDonald-Brown specializes in sustainability in her equity management work.

MacDonald-Brown oversees the global equities platform at Aviva Investors, while Matt Bennison, who joined as the head of UK active equities, oversees the UK active equities team. Bennison managed over £5bn of UK equity assets at Schroders, including the Schroder Prime UK Equity fund, Schroder Sustainable UK Equity fund, and the Schroder Income Growth Investment Trust.

The current head of the UK Active Equities division at Aviva Investors, Mike Kalaher, welcomed Bennison to the team. Daniel McHugh also welcomed both MacDonald-Brown and Bennison, expressing his excitement about the new additions to the firm.
