A High-Tech Spin on the Classic: The Singer Porsche 911 Carrera Coupé Revamp

Reimagined Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe Offers Superior Performance Over Classic Model

For the true Porsche lover who appreciates a mix of vintage appeal and modern prowess, the Singer Porsche 911 Carrera Coupé presents an irresistible option. This limited-edition restomod, crafted by California-based Singer Vehicle Design, harks back to the bold, wide-body aesthetics of the '80s Carrera models while incorporating sophisticated motorsport technology. The production is capped at a mere 100 units.

Since 2009, Singer has been renowned for its precision restorations and modernizations of the iconic Porsche 911. The latest addition to their portfolio, the 911 Carrera Coupé, is no exception. It's a meticulous reworking of the Porsche 964 that celebrates its 30+ year-old body, fortifying its structure before replacing the original body panels with carbon fiber reinforced plastic. The wider wheel arches sport 18-inch lightweight alloys with central locking, similarly adorned with Michelin Pilot Sport tires.

Sports model features a stationary rear airfoil.

An exquisite retro touch is added through the modernized headlights, fitted with classic optics that blend harmoniously with the timeless design. But the pièce de résistance? Headlights that pop out of the front hood via a flip mechanism, turning this restomod into a head-turner.

Redesigned Cabin, Iconic Power

Highly athletic interior design featured in new vehicle unveiling

As with all Singer restorations, the interior receives a complete overhaul. The cozy cabin combines classic design elements with modern materials to create a sporty, yet functional space. A naturally aspirated 4.0-liter engine, developed in collaboration with Cosworth, powers this beauty. The collaboration focuses on optimizing the 964 powertrain to produce a robust 420 horsepower. Variable valve timing ensures responsive performance across all engine speeds for an unparalleled driving experience.

The engine works in concert with a manual six-speed transmission, reaching maximum engine speeds of 8,000 rpm. A titanium exhaust system handles the exhaust.

State-of-the-art Handling and Controls

The suspension is revamped using electronically controlled dampers with four adjustment modes and a handy lift system for navigating curbs. Carbon ceramic brakes, along with advanced safety features like ABS, traction control, and ESP from Bosch, are also installed, ensuring a smooth and secure ride.

While Singer doesn't disclose pricing details, they note that each build is customized to customer preferences, making costs vary widely. Previous projects have ranged from around $500,000 to as high as $2 million due to bespoke features and components.
