RCTC Extends Toll Services Contract with Kapsch TrafficCom to 2041

Riverside County Transportation Commission (RCTC) has extended its partnership with Kapsch TrafficCom, renewing a 10-year toll services contract. The extension, praised by RCTC's Toll Operations Director Jennifer Crosson, recognizes Kapsch's deep understanding of RCTC's business and efficient operations.

The current head of toll operations, Mark Schofield, oversaw the renewal. The project scope now extends to 2041, building on the original 2017 contract that opened the I-15 Express Lanes to the public in 2021 and achieved final acceptance in 2022. Spanning 25 miles, the project processes over 45 million trips annually.

Kapsch TrafficCom has delivered a sophisticated toll system, combining state-of-the-art technology with high system reliability and excellent customer service. Together, RCTC and Kapsch have enhanced travel and toll services, adding the 15/91 Express Lanes Connector project to the scope. The extension covers all toll services provided by Kapsch for RCTC, including roadside toll operations and maintenance on SR-91 and I-15 Express Lanes, as well as customer support for the Riverside Express toll program.

The 10-year extension applies to the current Kapsch TrafficCom contract for the I-15 Express Lanes Project and the full replacement of the SR-91 Express Lanes roadside tolling system. RCTC's confidence in Kapsch TrafficCom's performance and engagement reflects the successful collaboration between the two organizations.
