Rajnath Singh Pushes for Innovative Ecosystem in Indian Defence Sector

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has called for a significant shift in the military sector, emphasizing the need for an innovative ecosystem to drive research and development. He stressed the importance of this move, given the increasingly technology-oriented nature of modern warfare.

Singh highlighted the necessity for greater integration and a standardised system within the Indian Army to effectively tackle cyberattacks and information warfare. The Ministry of Defence has committed to providing support for this integration and standardisation.

The military budget is seeing a year-on-year increase, with the government showing dedication to boosting technology development in the sector. Singh also underscored the crucial role of the Defence Accounts Department in managing funds for research and development.

Rajnath Singh has urged the military sector to upgrade and keep pace with the evolving nature of warfare. The creation of an innovative ecosystem, along with the standardisation of the Indian Army's systems, is expected to enhance the sector's capabilities and response to security challenges.
