Prohibition of Digital Gadgets During the Final Stages of the 2025 World Series of Poker

Mark your calendars, the WSOP 2025 is just around the corner, and with it comes some major changes to the tournament rules! Say so long to smartphones and all other electronic gadgets at the final three tables of the tournaments. 🙅‍♂️📱

Previously, phones were merely required to be kept silent and out of sight during play, but this year's edition introduces stricter limitations. From here on out, once a tournament hits the final three tables, all electronic devices must be zipped up and locked away. Failure to comply? Penalties ranging from warnings to being booted from the game.

Can't resist the itch to check your phone while waiting for the next round? No worries, you can still indulge during breaks or once you're out of the game.

Verboten devices also extend to feature or streamed tables. Forget about flipping open that laptop or discreetly peeking at your phone -- it's a big no-no! And don't even think about coaching or seeking assistance from within the tournament room -- not even sneaking peeks at the tournament stream is allowed.

What's more, get ready to say hello to WSOP+ as it becomes mandatory for account creation to even register for any WSOP event! And, yes, we predicted this face-to-screen switcheroo back in August last year, and now it's official!

The WSOP+ app first made its debut during the WSOP Paradise festival in the Bahamas in 2023 and is now here to make your live tournament experience even sweeter. Just like before, the app offers a ton of features such as a tournament clock, real-time chip counts, player standings, prize pool details, seating assignments, and even push notifications to keep you updated throughout the game.

Registration was a hassle-free task last year? Now, it's going to be even easier with the WSOP+ app. To participate in events, you'll need an active and valid Caesars Rewards account, along with a WSOP+ account. And starting this year, players who win online qualifiers on GGPoker or WSOP Online, or those who qualify through land-based satellites, no longer have to hassle with vouchers. Instead, they can access their tournament seat tickets directly through the WSOP+ app!

As for offline registration, it's still possible at the main casino cage inside Paris Las Vegas beginning May 15.

Taking this tech-savvy trend one step further, players can now use WSOP+ to purchase tournament tickets online with multiple payment options such as ACH, credit cards, PayPal, Luxon Pay, WSOP Online Qualifiers, and Paris Tournament Accounts (funded in person at the WSOP cage). And, good news! No fees apply when purchasing tournament entries using ACH, PayPal, Luxon Pay, or Paris Tournament Accounts!

With these new rules in place and the technology at your fingertips, we're excited to see this year's World Series of Poker unfold in Las Vegas! 🎮🏅💖
