Powerhouse GPU design: That's not it, but the 800W, celebratory 30th anniversary Asus ROG Matrix RTX 5090 easily qualifies as a formidable GPU physique.

Asus has announced the release of the ROG Matrix RTX 5090 graphics card, a celebration of their 30th anniversary in creating graphics cards. This high-performance card, equipped with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 GPU and the Blackwell architecture, promises to deliver ultimate gaming and creative performance.

Key Features

The Asus ROG Matrix RTX 5090 graphics card boasts several impressive features. With 32GB of GDDR7 memory, a 512-bit memory interface, and a memory speed of 28 Gbps, it offers ample resources for demanding tasks. The card runs at an engine boost clock of up to 2610 MHz in OC mode and includes 21,760 CUDA cores.

AI performance is a standout feature, with the fifth-generation Tensor Cores supporting DLSS 4 and FP4 formats for advanced AI and neural shaders. The card delivers an AI performance of 3593 TOPs. It also features fourth-generation ray tracing cores for advanced real-time ray tracing with neural rendering support and NVIDIA Reflex 2 for low latency and frame warp technology.

Superior cooling is another highlight. The card features a patented vapor chamber, a copper heat spreader, a three-ounce copper layer on the PCB for enhanced heat dissipation, and liquid metal thermal compound for better GPU cooling and higher boost clocks. A quad-fan cooling design, including a dedicated fourth fan integrated into the backplate, improves airflow and thermal headroom, especially in compact cases.

The card supports up to four displays (2x HDMI 2.1b and 3x DisplayPort 2.1b), and HDCP 2.3 compliance. Power delivery supports up to 800 watts when combined with ASUS Advanced BTF motherboard GC-HPWR slot and a 12V-2x6 cable, enabling extreme overclocking potential. Additional features include Memory Defroster for LN2 extreme overclocking recovery, Aura Sync customizable lighting, sensor arrays across VRMs and power stages for telemetry monitoring via ASUS GPU Tweak III software, including power connector integrity and thermal mapping.

Design and Availability

The Asus ROG Matrix RTX 5090 graphics card sports a distinctive design with Tron-like, red lighting around the edges. From one side, it appears to be triple-fan, while from the other side it resembles a single-fan a la blower style. Only 1,000 units of this limited-edition card will be available.

Included accessories are an ROG Graphics Card Holder, Velcro hooks, a magnet, a graphics card keycap, a PCB ruler, a thank-you card, and adapter cables.

Manufactured by Asus, the Asus ROG Matrix RTX 5090 graphics card requires 800 W of power, compared to the base 575 W the RTX 5090 is rated for. It has dual power inputs: 12V-2x6 and BTF connector. It is unclear whether the use of a BTF connector on the card was anticipated when back connect motherboards were developed.

The design of the card includes long edges and a bulbous end, and it is not minimalistic. It is air-cooled, without any liquid nitrogen. It is important to note that this card is not mass-produced, with only 1,000 units available.

The Asus ROG Matrix RTX 5090 graphics card was announced on August 20, 2025. It is a testament to Asus' commitment to innovation and performance, combining cutting-edge NVIDIA technology with ASUS proprietary innovations to deliver exceptional performance and cooling for enthusiasts and creators alike.
