Polestar's Digital Rearview Mirror: A Leap in Automotive Design

Polestar has revolutionised car design with the introduction of a digital mirror in the Polestar Precept. This innovative feature replaces the traditional mirror, offering enhanced safety and comfort to drivers and passengers.

The digital mirror utilises a 2.5-megapixel camera with a 121-degree field of view to capture real-time information, which is then displayed on the cabin's 8.9-inch HD screen. This technology marks a significant departure from the century-old design of traditional mirrors, demonstrating how innovation can drive meaningful change in automotive design.

Ola Aldensjö, product manager of the Polestar Precept, has highlighted the benefits of this new feature. The digital mirror improves driver visibility, particularly in poor lighting or rainy conditions, ensuring safer driving experiences. Additionally, the lack of a rear window in the Polestar Precept creates a more spacious and luxurious backseat experience for passengers, enhancing overall comfort.

Polestar's digital mirror, initially showcased in the concept car Polestar Precept, offers a glimpse into the future of automotive design. By combining improved safety and increased comfort, this innovative feature sets a new standard for car manufacturers, paving the way for further technological advancements in the industry.
