Polestar 4 Introduces Revolutionary Digital Rearview Mirror
Polestar has unveiled a pioneering feature in their latest model, the Polestar 4. The electric car manufacturer has replaced the traditional rearview mirror with a digital one, offering drivers enhanced visibility and passengers a more luxurious backseat experience.
The innovative digital rearview mirror utilises a 2.5-megapixel camera with an expansive 121-degree field of view. This camera captures real-time footage, which is then displayed on the cabin's 8.9-inch HD screen. This setup provides a clearer view of the road behind, particularly in low-light conditions or during rain, ensuring safer driving.
Ola Aldensjö, the product manager of the Polestar 4, explains that this digital mirror offers a much sharper image compared to traditional mirrors. The lack of a physical rear window in Polestar cars further enhances the backseat experience, creating a more immersive and luxurious atmosphere. The digital rearview mirror can be toggled between the HD display and a traditional mirror, offering drivers the best of both worlds.
Polestar's digital rearview mirror is a significant leap forward in automotive design, combining improved safety features with increased comfort. By replacing the traditional rearview mirror, Polestar has not only enhanced driver visibility but also created a more spacious and luxurious backseat experience for passengers.
