Pforzheim Upgrades Parking: Card Machines Roll Out in 2026
Pforzheim is set to enhance parking convenience with the introduction of credit card-accepting parking machines. Currently, many drivers face difficulties due to the scarcity of suitable coins for cash-only machines.
In a bid to address this issue, a parking machine accepting EC or Maestro cards has been installed at the Goldschmiedeschulplatz. This move follows a successful trial run and is part of a larger plan to upgrade more machines.
Starting January 2026, similar credit card-accepting machines will be installed at Burgstädt's Bahnhof, Anger, and Sportzentrum. This initiative aims to expand to 'further large squares' in the future, making parking more convenient for drivers across the city.
The introduction of credit card-accepting parking machines in Pforzheim is a step towards enhancing driver convenience. This initiative, starting with the Goldschmiedeschulplatz and expanding to other key locations, will reduce the reliance on coins and make parking more accessible.
