Phoenix Labs' official website becomes inaccessible, coinciding with Fae Farm's announcement of upcoming Steam game shutdown, and the game's removal from Epic Games store.

Online gaming platform Fae Farm, developed by Phoenix Labs, shuts down Steam services and completely vanishes from Epic Games Store, causing the Phoenix Labs website to go offline.

In a series of unfortunate events, video game developer Phoenix Labs has closed its doors, leaving several of its popular games in a state of limbo.

The closure was preceded by a significant layoff of the majority of its staff in early 2025. This move led to the cessation of multiplayer support and future updates for Fae Farm, the studio's co-op farming simulator, which went offline on September 10, 2025. Despite the shutdown, single-player mode remains playable for those who still own the game, but multiplayer servers are no more. Fae Farm has also been removed from the Epic Games Store, leaving it available only for purchase and offline play on Steam.

The fate of Fae Farm's console versions remains unclear, with no indication of losing online functionality at this time. It's worth noting that the end of online support on Steam for Fae Farm is likely due to the closure of the Phoenix Labs account.

Another casualty of the shutdown is Dauntless, another game developed by Phoenix Labs. The game was officially closed in May 2025 due to declining engagement and intense competition with titles like Monster Hunter. Dauntless was available on various platforms, but it is no longer accessible following the studio's closure.

Despite the closure, parent company Forte has stated that Phoenix Labs itself has not ceased operations but is discontinuing multiplayer for Fae Farm and winding down support. As of now, there's no definitive word on any future projects from the studio.

In the realm of gaming hardware, the Razer Blade 16 has been named the best laptop for gaming, while the Lenovo Legion Go S SteamOS ed. takes the title for the best handheld gaming PC. The Meta Quest 3 has been recognised as the best VR headset, and the Minisforum AtomMan G7 PT has been identified as the best mini PC.

As we move forward, the gaming community will have to adjust to the absence of Phoenix Labs' games and look forward to what the future may hold for the studio and the industry as a whole.

  1. Fae Farm fans have lamented the loss of the game's multiplayer support due to Phoenix Labs' closure.
  2. The absence of Phoenix Labs has left popular games like Dauntless inaccessible, causing discontent among gamers on social media.
  3. As technology advances, there remains a gap in the market for co-op farming simulators following Fae Farm's exit, creating opportunities for other developers.
  4. With the rise of new gadgets, the gaming community eagerly awaits the emergence of potential innovative games from Phoenix Labs' future projects.
