Ola Staff Allege Aggressive Culture Under CEO Aggarwal

Over two dozen current and former Ola staff members have spoken out about the company's culture, describing it as aggressive and transforming over the last couple of years. The company's founder and CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal, has been accused of a ruthless and abrasive leadership style that has pushed away personnel and dismayed board members.

Several executives, including Zilingo's former chief financial officer Ramesh Bafna, have chosen not to join Ola Electric after officially accepting job offers. The reasons cited include the company's culture and Aggarwal's leadership style. In one instance, Aggarwal asked an employee to run laps around the Ola Futurefactory for a shuttered entrance that should have been opened. In meetings, Aggarwal has been known to lose patience over minor issues like a missing page number, uneven paper clips, or the quality of printing paper. Employees have expressed concern over Aggarwal's unrelenting pace and monitoring style.

The revelations about Ola's company culture and Aggarwal's leadership style have raised concerns among employees and board members. While there is no public confirmation of other executives who have not joined Ola Electric following job offers, the testimonies of current and former staff members highlight the need for a more inclusive and supportive work environment.
