Reports of these issues have been mounting in recent months, particularly affecting newly released games such as inZOI and The First Berserker: Khazan. Some users have even reverted to older driver versions for a better gaming experience or are waiting for further fixes from Nvidia.
The 572.xx driver series has been associated with degraded performance and reduced stability on RTX 30 and 40-series GPUs. Specific driver versions, like 572.83, have been noted for causing stutters, "lurches," and GPU clock speed freezes, whereas slightly earlier versions like 572.75 were found to be more stable and performant by some users. RTX 40-series GPU owners have reported problems after updating to the 572.xx driver, experiencing system stability issues, including blue screen crashes (BSODs), system instability, and game-breaking bugs.
In practical terms, the most effective solution for users experiencing issues with the 572.xx driver seems to be rolling back to an earlier, more stable driver version, such as the 566.36 driver. Affected users are advised by multiple developers to revert to the 566.36 driver via Nvidia's official website.
