NRF Bolsters Advocacy Team with Key Appointments
The National Retail Federation (NRF) has bolstered its advocacy team with two key appointments. Mercy Beehler joins as Vice President of Government Relations, while Meghan Cruz is promoted to Vice President, Advocacy and Engagement. These moves aim to strengthen NRF's voice in shaping retail policies across the U.S.
NRF, a voice for every retailer and retail job, represents an industry that's a powerhouse in the U.S. economy. It contributes $5.3 trillion annually to GDP and supports over 52 million jobs, more than one in four across the nation.
Beehler brings a wealth of experience to her new role. She previously headed policy communications at Alibaba Group, advocating for the company before various government bodies. Her expertise in online retail and technology will be invaluable in advancing NRF's advocacy agenda on issues like data privacy, AI, payments, and workforce matters. Beehler will report to Jason Straczewski, who has been promoted to Group Vice President of Government Relations and Political Affairs.
Cruz's promotion reflects her growing influence in NRF's advocacy efforts. She will continue to support state retail association partners, retail business leaders, and policymakers, providing close collaboration and expert guidance.
With these strategic appointments, NRF enhances its advocacy team's capabilities. Beehler's and Cruz's expertise will help NRF navigate complex policy landscapes, ensuring the retail industry's voice is heard and its interests protected.
