Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition tournament is currently underway
Nintendo has announced that the fourth edition of the Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition will be available for Nintendo Switch Online members. This competition encourages players to test their speedrunning skills and personal bests, as they compete against each other online.
The Nintendo World Championships: NESTM Edition game, which requires a Nintendo Switch Online membership (sold separately) and a Nintendo Account for online features, will be accessible to members from now until 8/12 at 1:59 a.m. PT.
In this competition, players will face challenges from various games from Nintendo's past, such as Door to Door (Super Mario Bros. 2TM), Seek & Destroy (Kid IcarusTM), Goodbye, Guma (Zelda II: The Adventure of LinkTM), Power Grab: Missile (MetroidTM), and Sink or Swim (Super Mario Bros.TM).
The game features more than 150 challenging moments from 13 classic NESTM games, and players can showcase their skills to the world and compete against other players. For those who want to learn tips and strategies for improving their times, replays of the top runs for each challenge will be available to watch.
For those who wish to challenge their friends, multiplayer mode (with additional accessories sold separately) is also available. The competition results, including overall rankings and rankings by birth year, will be available for players to check.
