New mobile station established by Vodafone in Münchhausen
Vodafone Germany, one of the leading communications companies in the country, continues to connect people, machines, and communities across Germany. With a presence in politics, economy, and society, Vodafone's network plays a crucial role in the local economy, jobs, and citizens' daily lives.
The telecommunications giant recently launched a new mobile network station in Münchhausen, eliminating a dead zone in mobile broadband coverage. This station connects approximately 3,000 residents and guests to Vodafone's mobile broadband highway.
Vodafone's 5G network currently reaches over 90% of the population in Germany, with 81 mobile network stations in operation, 75 of which are equipped with mobile broadband technology LTE. Of these stations, 42 also have the broadband technology 5G on board. Vodafone plans to convert the remaining mobile network stations in the county to 5G+ sites, if technically feasible.
The new antennas support the latest variants of the emergency call technology AML and the disaster warning system Cell Broadcast, ensuring that emergency services can quickly locate callers and alert the surrounding population in case of danger.
Vodafone's machine network (Narrowband IoT) covers more than 97% of German territory for industry and business. The company is committed to operating its business more sustainably and protecting the environment, aiming to be carbon neutral by 2025 and net-zero emissions by 2040.
In addition to expanding its 5G network, Vodafone also plans to implement further construction projects to expand LTE and 5G+ mobile broadband highways in the coming years. Specific towns or municipalities in the Marburg-Biedenkopf district planned for Vodafone's 5G+ network upgrade and antenna additions have not been publicly detailed by Vodafone as of the current date.
Vodafone Germany generates an annual turnover of approximately €13 billion with around 15,000 employees. The company has over 30 million mobile, over 10 million broadband, and around 12 million TV customers. The company is driving infrastructure expansion in Germany and reaches two-thirds of all German households with gigabit speed in its nationwide cable-fiber network.
Tanja Richter, Vodafone's Chief Technology Officer, stated, "Mobile networks are crucial for the local economy, jobs, and citizens' daily lives." Vodafone is committed to providing reliable and sustainable communications solutions for Germany.
