Multi-Vehicle Crash on BAB 81 Causes Major Delays, Injuries
A serious traffic accident on BAB 81 between Boeblingen/Sindelfingen and Boeblingen-Hulb caused significant delays today. The incident involved two cars, a motorcycle, and a truck, resulting in injuries and extensive damage.
The crash led to traffic jams stretching 8 kilometers towards Stuttgart and 7 kilometers towards Singen. Over 70 emergency service personnel, including a rescue helicopter, were dispatched to the scene. The motorcycle rider was thrown and struck the rear window of a Volkswagen Tiguan. The vehicles involved were a Volkswagen Tiguan, a motorcycle, a Fiat Punto, and a Volkswagen Crafter truck. The Suzuki motorcycle was crushed between the Fiat and the Volkswagen. The total damage is estimated at 39,000 euros.
The accident resulted in two severe, three slight, and two uninjured casualties. Unfortunately, two follow-up accidents occurred in the resulting traffic jam. BAB 81 was completely closed in both directions to facilitate rescue operations.
The Ludwigsburg police headquarters is investigating the cause of the accident. The responsible party has not yet been identified. The closure of BAB 81 caused significant disruption to traffic, with jams stretching several kilometers in both directions.
