Mobile Tour Organization 2025: Dr. Malek Introduces Tour Planning to Smartphones
Dr. Malek Software, a leading provider of logistics solutions, showcased key innovations at the Transport Logistic 2025 trade fair, particularly emphasising advancements in mobile work and AI-based document capture. These innovations aim to enhance logistics operations through digital transformation and intelligent automation.
The mobile work solutions introduced by Dr. Malek Software enable logistics professionals to perform tasks efficiently on-the-go. This includes real-time access to logistics data, improved communication, and streamlined workflows outside traditional office environments. Such mobile capabilities support more agile and responsive supply chain management, which is crucial for resilience and operational efficiency in logistics.
One of the mobile work solutions is a new drag-and-drop document upload feature in the freight forwarding portal. This feature is designed for freight forwarders and carriers who want to give their drivers more self-responsibility in tour planning. Drivers can now sort shipments provided by the shipper into the correct order on their mobile device.
Another mobile innovation is the M3 driver app, which has been extended with AI-based image recognition that optimises analog receipts automatically. The AI in the app can recognise and process photographed documents such as delivery notes or pallet labels, crop them, straighten them, and improve contrast and lighting.
On the AI-based document capture front, Dr. Malek Software presented advanced technologies that automate the extraction and processing of data from a wide array of logistics documents. The M3 warehouse scanning app, a native Android app for mobile scanners, is one such example. It can be flexibly adapted to different warehouse processes and enables the allocation of entire tours directly on a smartphone or tablet.
The innovations are part of the modular software family "M3 Logisticware", which now comprises around 35 modules. Customers can choose from around 20 pre-configured modules to efficiently implement processes such as repacking or singling out packages. The status change, for example from "open" to "allocated" or "delivered", also occurs in one step for the entire tour.
Shippers can now deposit required documents even more easily, thanks to the new document upload feature. The M3 freight forwarding portal now enables the allocation of entire tours directly on a smartphone or tablet, further streamlining the logistics process.
Dr. Malek Software employs 25 people and serves around 400 active customers. Many of these customers have deeply integrated M3 Logisticware into existing ERP systems such as SAP. The applications covered by M3 Logisticware include transport management, warehouse logistics, telematics, and web services for ramp management, shipment tracking, or online bookings.
Together, these innovations contribute to the broader digitalization trend in logistics highlighted at Transport Logistic 2025, which centers on harnessing AI, automation, and smart technologies to future-proof logistics operations for greater resilience, sustainability, and efficiency. Dr. Malek's contributions align with industry-wide efforts to integrate AI into supply chain processes, enabling improved agility and intelligence in managing transport and logistics workflows.
