Metacon appoints Nikolett Sipöcz as Chief Business Officer, focusing on Electrolysis division.

In a significant move for Metacon AB (publ), Dr. Nikolett Sipoč has been appointed as the Chief Business Officer (CBO) for the Electrolysis business unit. Sipoč, who holds a civil engineering degree from Lund University and a PhD in Thermal Power Engineering from the University of Stavanger, Norway, brings extensive experience in leadership roles in large global companies in the industrial sector, including GE Global Research.

Previously, Sipoč held the position of Head of Sales for E.ON Drive in Sweden. She is now replacing Johan Berggren in his manager role as Head of Sales, who will now focus on sales and business development work towards major key projects, in the role of Business Development Director.

Metacon's Electrolysis business unit specializes in the production of hydrogen through a patented technology for hydrogen production through catalytic steam reforming of biogas or other hydrocarbons. The company offers complete electrolysis plants for hydrogen production and integrated hydrogen refueling stations.

Sipoč's role as CBO and head of the electrolysis organization will involve the overall management of the business unit, including sales responsibility. She will continue to develop Metacon's sales organization, ensuring the company's continued growth in the electrolysis market.

Christer Wikner, CEO of Metacon, expressed his pleasure at Sipoč's decision to join Metacon's management team. "Nikolett's extensive experience and expertise in the industrial sector will be invaluable to Metacon as we continue to advance our hydrogen technology and solutions," he said.

Green hydrogen produced by Metacon can be used in various sectors such as the transport sector, basic industry, and the real estate sector. If the electricity used in the electrolysis process is fossil-free, the produced hydrogen will be fossil-free and climate-neutral ("green"). This makes Metacon's products an attractive solution for companies looking to reduce their carbon footprint.

The development of Metacon's reforming products is carried out within the wholly owned subsidiary Metacon S.A in Patras, Greece. With Sipoč at the helm of the Electrolysis business unit, Metacon is poised to make significant strides in the production of green hydrogen and the promotion of sustainable energy solutions.

  1. Sipoč's expertise in business development and extensive experience in the industrial sector will undoubtedly contribute to Metacon's finance and technology-driven growth as they focus on the production of green hydrogen.
  2. The appointment of Sipoč as the Chief Business Officer for Metacon's Electrolysis business unit marks a crucial step in their quest to expand hydrogen news and business in the global market, particularly in sectors that can benefit from green hydrogen.
