Mazda Promotes Jacques Flynn to Senior Director of Design in North America

Mazda has promoted Jacques Flynn to the role of senior director for Mazda Design America. Flynn brings a wealth of experience and passion to the position, having previously served as brand style director and lead exterior designer at the company.

Flynn's impressive career at Mazda spans over a decade. He first joined the company in 2006 as the lead exterior designer, contributing significantly to the design of the current MX-5 sports car. His dedication and talent did not go unnoticed, leading to his promotion to brand style director in 2022.

Flynn's latest promotion comes after the departure of Yasutake Tsuchida in February 2023. Tsuchida had been leading design operations, including next-generation vehicle planning and brand strategy development, since March 2021. Flynn's predecessor as senior director was Julien Montousse, who held the position from 2013 to 2018. Montousse played a crucial role in developing and positioning Mazda's design on the North American market during his tenure.

Before rejoining Mazda, Flynn worked at EV startup Karma Automotive, where he focused on concept vehicle design. In his new role, Flynn will oversee all design-related activities for Mazda in North America.

Jacques Flynn's appointment as senior director for Mazda Design America reflects his deep understanding of the brand and his proven track record in automotive design. With his leadership, Mazda looks forward to continuing its tradition of crafting distinctive, exciting vehicles that captivate drivers worldwide.
