Major Drug Bust in Cologne Nets Illegal Substances, Firearm, and €1M in Cash
A major drug bust has taken place in Cologne, Germany, with investigators seizing a large haul of illegal substances, a firearm, and cash. The operation, which involved international cooperation, has led to the arrest of three suspects. The investigation is ongoing.
The search in Cologne uncovered a significant amount of MDMA, ecstasy, and cocaine, along with a firearm and over €100,000 in cash. Several data carriers and electronic devices were also seized, which are now being evaluated by the Aachen Criminal Police. The narcotics are estimated to have a total sales value of several million euros.
The operation was part of an ongoing investigation into suspected organized drug trafficking. Last month, the Aachen police made a significant breakthrough in this case. On 19.08.2025, the Dutch police, acting on behalf of the Aachen police and ZAC NRW, searched three residential buildings and a boxing studio in Heerlen, Netherlands. This resulted in the arrest of three suspects, aged 33, 39, and 40. Two of these suspects were already wanted internationally and were arrested on site.
The three men are suspected of selling narcotics on the darknet and using the German postal system to distribute them via post boxes in the German border area. One suspect has been handed over to the German authorities, while another remains in custody in the Netherlands. The investigation is continuing as authorities analyze the seized data carriers and hardware to further substantiate the suspicion against the three men.
The successful operation in Cologne and Heerlen has dealt a significant blow to an alleged organized drug trafficking network. The investigation is ongoing, and more details may emerge as the seized evidence is analyzed. The international cooperation between German and Dutch authorities has proven crucial in this case.
