Limited-Edition 'Home Again' Cans Celebrate England Lionesses' Victory and Pac-Man's 45th Anniversary

Budweiser and Draftline, AB InBev's in-house creative agency, have unveiled a unique line of limited-edition 'Home Again' cans. These cans are part of Budweiser's and Draftline's product line and are not to be confused with the series of 45 uniquely designed, special edition collectible cans for Pac-Man's 45th anniversary, which are being launched by Candy Can and Ardagh Metal Packaging.

The 'Home Again' cans were created to celebrate the England Lionesses winning back-to-back European football championships. However, they were not mentioned to be part of the Pac-Man anniversary series. The Pac-Man cans, on the other hand, will feature Pac-Man-themed artwork and will be printed with H!GHEND technology, allowing for designs to be printed on side walls with controlled distortion. This technology will also be applied to Ardagh Metal Packaging's Sleek 33cl cans with a matte finish.

Ardagh Metal Packaging and Candy Can aim to offer something the market hasn't seen before with these special edition cans. Gerlof Toenhake, director of Sales at Ardagh Metal Packaging, added that with the right design and technology, a can becomes more than packaging - it becomes a storyteller. Sander de Jonge, Founder of Candy Can, stated that teaming up with Ardagh Metal Packaging felt like the perfect match.

In 2023, Ardagh Metal Packaging used its H!GHEND technology on Heineken Enterprise's Pelican craft beer cans. The flipping of these cans optimized the beer's flavor by mixing the yeast throughout the drink. Interestingly, the on-pack design of Heineken Enterprise's Pelican cans encouraged consumers to flip the pack upside down.

The target market for the cans includes consumers with an interest in gaming, design, and/or unique drinks flavors. The 'Home Again' cans are limited-edition products, and while they are not intended to be kept as collectable items at end-of-life, the Pac-Man cans are intended to be kept as such.

The production and sale of the specially designed, limited edition Pac-Man cans will be conducted by AB InBev in Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Hungary, Lithuania, and Denmark. The 'Home Again' cans will also be sold in these countries.

Pac-Man is a cultural icon that is instantly recognizable and universally loved. The launch of these special edition cans is set to excite fans of the game and beer enthusiasts alike.
